Storage Colyers Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Storage Colyers in respect of the financial year ending 31 March. It sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Colyers provides storage and related services to a wide range of customers. Our operations are supported by suppliers of goods, equipment, property services, technology, and professional services. We recognise that modern slavery can occur in any country, sector, or industry, and we are committed to ensuring that our business and supply chains are conducted in a responsible, transparent, and ethical manner.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Storage Colyers has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, and exploitation. We expect everyone working for or with us to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy by employees may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any supplier or contractor found to be involved in modern slavery may face corrective action, suspension, or termination of their relationship with us.
Policies and Governance
Our approach to modern slavery is underpinned by a framework of internal policies, including recruitment, equality and diversity, health and safety, whistleblowing, and supplier standards. These policies are designed to promote fair treatment, safe working conditions, and ethical conduct. Managers are responsible for implementing these policies within their teams and for escalating concerns where potential risks are identified.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who uphold high ethical standards. Our supplier onboarding processes require suppliers to confirm compliance with applicable labour, human rights, and health and safety laws. We expect suppliers to have their own measures in place to prevent modern slavery within their business and supply chains.
Storage Colyers conducts risk-based due diligence on selected suppliers, taking into account factors such as location, sector, and type of service provided. This may include questionnaires, requests for supporting documentation, and, where appropriate, site visits or audits. Where risks are identified, we work with suppliers to develop and implement improvement actions. Continued non-compliance or refusal to address concerns may result in the ending of a commercial relationship.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery across our workforce. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, contract management, and facilities, receive training on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance policy, and following our reporting procedures. We aim to build a culture where colleagues feel confident to challenge potential issues and escalate concerns without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Colyers encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to report concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical practices. Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting channels or via our whistleblowing arrangements. Reports can be made confidentially, and, where permitted by law, anonymously. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively.
We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where an investigation substantiates an allegation of modern slavery or related misconduct, we will take appropriate remedial and disciplinary action and consider whether to notify relevant authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Storage Colyers is committed to continuous improvement in our approach, strengthening our controls, and learning from emerging best practice. Each year, we review the effectiveness of our measures, including the outcomes of supplier assessments, any reported incidents, and feedback from employees and stakeholders.
This Statement is reviewed and approved at least annually by the Storage Colyers leadership team to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and proportionate to the nature and scale of our business. Updates may also be made during the year if there are significant changes to our operations, risk profile, or legal obligations.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved on behalf of Storage Colyers and reflects our ongoing commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
